• Reviewing and accepting filings submitted through separate e-filing applications (one for the public and one for department of corrections incarcerated individuals)
• Managing case details, participants, events, and statuses in the case management system (ACORDS)
• Storing, creating, routing, and sending documents via the document management (ONBASE) and workflow tools
• Creating and managing court calendars, issuing notifications, displaying calendars publicly, and tracking confirmations.
- Case management system (CMS) known as the appellate court record and data system (ACORDS), which is now nearing the end of its lifecycle.
- The CMS is not well integrated with the e-filing and document management system, resulting in duplicate work, redundant data entry, and ongoing integration challenges.
- The on-base system interfaces well with the e-filing solution.
- The courts experience significant limitations in reporting capabilities and do not have a modern, robust calendaring solution.
- Court personnel spend substantial time manually scheduling, maintaining, and reporting on hearings due to the lack of flexibility in the current CMS calendaring system.
- Supreme court, and court of appeals implemented electronic court records and workflows, replacing multiple standalone document management systems.
