The Vendor is required to provide the design, fabrication, installation and maintenance of the digital wayfinding signage display.
- The city is seeking digital wayfinding signage in the form of an outdoor interactive platform to provide residents and visitors with contextualized information in the kindred neighborhood.
- Wayfinding stations are anticipated to be customizable, modular kiosks designed to facilitate user interaction through both digital and physical means.
- They are intended to offer public benefits and incorporate smart technology, which may include, but is not limited to, the following features:
• Wayfinding information
• Public information and art displays
• Real-time public transportation options and arrival/departure data (e.g., bus, train, shared mobility devices (bike, scooter), or foot, etc.)
• Pedestrian auto counts and behavior data
• Include protocols for real-time posting of emergency City communications
• Include multilingual display capabilities, primarily featuring English and Spanish, and additional languages as identified by the City
• Public Wi-Fi access
• Support for various content formats including PDF, Microsoft Office files, map, images, and web links
- This includes, but is not limited to:
• The Contractor shall provide design, implementation, fabrication, installation, operation, and maintenance including replacement and repairs of five (5) kiosks.
• The Contractor shall provide a maintenance plan to ensure that equipment, hardware, software, and firmware remain up to date and modernized.
• The Contractor shall provide reports to the City including, but not limited to:
o Quarterly and Annual Usage Statistics Reports for location and content guidance (including insights into pedestrian foot traffic and revenue reports upon request)
o Annual Hardware Maintenance and Software Reports
- Fabrication/Material Usage: Kiosks must be designed to withstand heavy usage and environmental elements, including heavy rain falls. Materials should be engineered for easy cleaning and replacement of damaged parts.
- W3C Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) Compliance for Digital Wayfinding Guidelines: The kiosks must feature tactile and Braille signage, as well as audio assistance for those with visual and auditory impairments.
- Municipal Fiber-Optic Network: The kiosks will utilize the City’s fiber-optic infrastructure for connectivity.
- Geospatial Platform Integration: Kiosks must be compatible with the City’s Environmental System Research Institute (ESRI) geospatial platform.
- Sensor Integration and Data Collection: Kiosks should include proprietary sensors for accurate revenue reporting and data collection.
- The design shall include at least: one set of detailed design drawings of the proposed wayfinding kiosk clearly indicating scale and dimensions, a written description of all materials and products to be utilized, and the final fabrication schedule.
- The system installation will not be considered completed until final acceptance by the City.
