The Vendor is required to provide to partner with a qualified organization to coordinate culturally grounded community baby showers exclusively on the island.
- These events will connect families to essential supplies, education, and local services while strengthening community-based support systems.
- Partner Engagement and Program Development
• Engage county-based healthcare providers, Women, Infants and Children (“WIC”) programs, doulas, community-based organizations, and cultural practitioners to participate in each event.
• Establish a navigator-like role through partnerships with participating clinical organizations to support families in accessing care.
• Coordinate with clinical partners to ensure staff are present at baby shower events to provide real-time assistance, answer questions, and facilitate direct connections to services.
• Emphasize warm handoffs by supporting on-site scheduling of appointments, introductions to clinic staff, and immediate linkage to prenatal, postpartum, pediatric, behavioral health, or family planning services, as appropriate.
• Develop culturally safe and relevant programming, including parenting education, prenatal and postpartum health education, and support circles.
• Incorporate traditional and cultural elements where appropriate, such as blessings, storytelling, or hands-on cultural activities
- Outreach, Promotion, and Participant Support
• Design and disseminate culturally appropriate promotional materials targeting island communities using multiple platforms, including print, social media, and community networks.
• Conduct targeted outreach through community health workers, schools, churches, and partner organizations located on island.
• Coordinate transportation assistance, as needed, to reduce access barriers for participating island -based families.
- Event Implementation and Resource Distribution
• Coordinate on-site setup and event execution, including registration, partner booths, food, and activities.
• Distribute essential infant and maternal supplies (e.g., diapers, wipes, baby clothing, and other necessities) to participating island families, prioritizing those with the greatest needs.
• Provide opportunities for families to connect privately with service providers and navigators.
- Data Collection, Evaluation, and Reporting
• Collect participant data and feedback using paper and/or digital tools to capture attendance, island -specific demographics, satisfaction, and service needs that show outcomes increasing linkages to prenatal/postpartum care.
• Conduct internal debriefs following each event to assess successes, challenges, and opportunities for improvement.
• Submit brief summary reports following each event and a comprehensive final report documenting outcomes, participation, lessons learned, and recommendations for Future Island -based efforts.
