The Vendor is required to provide medical and occupational health professional staffing services, including electronic records management for the department center.
- Provide and utilize an electronic medical records (EMR) system for records retention, management, scheduling, and documentation.
- Remote work by certain positions, such as Cardiologists, may be approved in advance by the center deputy chief.
- Monthly staff meetings and staff training are scheduled during the hour of 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. staff will be permitted to flex 30 minutes during the same work week, as mutually agreed upon by contractor and city.
- Contractor’s staff on duty will attend these scheduled meetings, unless mutually agreed upon by contractor and city.
- Positive findings from physical/medical exams and work injuries may require specialist evaluations, treatment, surgery, rehabilitation and return to work appointments.
- All staff must have a working knowledge of an electronic health records management system.
- Evaluate and treat work-related injuries of firefighters, perform diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, prescribe and monitor treatment including physical therapy, and refer to medical specialists.
- Participate in and designate other providers to assist with research projects in firefighter health and wellness.
- Prepare and present educational materials to firefighters at annual firefighter conferences as requested.
