The Vendor is required to provide for third-party administrators (TPAs) to help navigate BWC programs designed to enhance workplace safety, minimize workers’ compensation premium costs, and meet state requirements.
- TPAs help employers develop comprehensive workplace safety and injury prevention programs and identify and evaluate discount and refund programs.
- The highest level of claims administration in order to achieve program goals and objectives that include:
• A robust, internet-based website that allows state to view claim notes and images in real-time. The system must allow for online claim reporting and must provide the ability download claim reports on demand.
• Ability to provide an annual stewardship report that presents an overview of the program.
• Reducing overall claim durations and costs.
• Maximizing the administrative efficiencies of the TPA and organization to support state.
• Achieving superior data capture (location codes, injury, and claim profiles) and reporting capabilities.
• Developing a collaborative partnership to assess and implement best practices for injury and medical management.
• Timely and accurate completion of act forms.
- Any person who administers pension plans for the benefit of its own members or employees or administers pension plans for the benefit of the members or employees of any other person;
- Provide to partner with a high-quality TPA for the administration of university state fund tail, and self-insured workers’ compensation claims, with a proposed contract start date beginning 7/1/2026.
- Any person that administers an insured plan, a self-insurance program, or other benefit plans in connection with life, vision, dental, health, or disability benefits exclusively for the person’s own members or employees.
